5 Simple Detox Tips for the new year!

1. Drink More Water

Would you like to begin a simple detox but you don’t know where to start. Begin preparing your body for changes ahead by hydrating your cells by adding water/H2O with a twist to detox. By the time you start to feel thirsty you have already began to dehydrate. Every cell in your body benefits from drinking water. Notice how herbs and grass thrives after being giving water. For some people drinking water can be difficult, so here are a few tips to help you add this vital nutrient into your detox. Space out your water drinking; 1 hot cup of water with a lemon upon rising to kick start your detox/liver cleanse, 1 glass before noon and 1 glass after, 2 glasses early evening and 1 glass before and after dinner add a cucumber for flavor. Remember drinking close to bed time can disturb a good nights rest.

2. Exercise, Move your Body

Exercise doesn’t have to be complicated and you don’t need a gym but you do need MOTIVATION to get started. When you add any form of movement to your detox regimen you are sending oxygen to your cells which in turns causes deeper breathing to eliminate toxins via the lungs, urine, feces, skin (the largest organ).

3. GREEN DRINKS

Green drinks are loaded with chlorophyll,even celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow  know the secrets to a great detox and weight loss.  How you carry your drink around is entirely up to you, however you are filling your container up with loads of antioxidants, vitamins, and mineral. Most individuals do not get their recommended daily amount of fruits and vegetables per day, so this is an excellent way to jump start your day with whole foods. Since the natural fibers have been broken down it is easy for your body to digested and absorbed. The combination that you chose is entirely up to you. Some of my favorites that I want to share with you are cucumber, kale, spinach, green grapes, apples, kiwi, parsley, celery. For an added boost throw in some wheat grass, spirulina or kelp.

 4. Herbal Therapy

Herbs are not only meant for drinking or seasoning your food. Herbs can be use in a bath, to supply oxygen through the skin. Rosemary is one of the best and most popular; peppermint and mullein are also effective. All you have to do is pack a small muslin bath or tea bag with the herb, drop it in to the tub or spa bath and soak for 15 minutes. After you are finished use the same tea bag, take the same bag but now as a skin scrub for instant smoothing and toning your skin. A perfect edition to detoxing inside and out. What you put on your skin gets absorbed into it.

5. Relaxation

Take time out for your self! This is the year that I vow to take care of me first, SUPERWOMEN has a new identity. Relaxation can be extremely therapeutic to help your body restore and rejuvenate from all the hard work that it goes through on a daily basis. When was the last time that you allowed your self to “Just BE”  in the moment. Enjoy, read, reflex on new goals and re-create yourself…. Mind + Body + Spirit = DETOX
