It is not easy to relax in a large city however it can be done. When you quite your mind, you quite your soul and peace will only follow you. Relaxation Techniques can be easily implemented into your hectic schedule, just find a quite spot and take several deep breaths, very smooth and diaphragmatic breathing, there’s no rush. If you can’t do it everyday, then at least try to carve out time in your temporary space or wherever you can, and “JUST BE”.
Release any unnecessary tension from your arms and legs. Then slowly relax your face muscles. It’s amazing how much tension that we hold in our facial structure.
This is where the fun begins. In your mind, I want you to picture your favorite place, a natural setting known to you. To experience total relaxation complete immersion with all of your senses is required, yes… even your sense of touch. For example, if you are imagining a beach, feel the sand in between your toes and the heat of the sand under your feet. If it is watching a sun set, feel the sun kissing your skin.
Can you visualize it?
Now shift your feeling to sound, vividly hear a specific sound. Can you hear the sound of water rushing against the shore, leaves blowing in the wind? Capture that sound and listen for other familiar sounds. As those experiences are established, move your attention to the visual channel and see various aspects of the setting. What colors are you seeing? Is it the beautiful colors of the autumn leaves or rich green grass in the summer? Shift to your sense of smell, another aspect of your setting. Can you smell the fragrance of the air after the rain has fallen? Can you smell the salt from the beautiful blue sea? Or the smell of fresh cut grass on a warm summer evening?
Allow yourself to be completely immersed in this natural setting. Open yourself up to feelings of peace and relaxation. Feel everything about this natural rhythm of wellness in your setting. When you are almost ready and you have captured tranquility bring your awareness back to your breathing. Continue deep breathing, now wiggle your toes, then wiggle your fingers, and now open your eyes. Reach your arms up high over your head, taking a nice long stretch and exhale. Go back to your regular days activities but remember you can always come back. Your imagination can create new things, if you “Just Be”.
….Stay BEAUTIFUL AND HEALTHY
